Continuing with our release of World Series New Era Hats, Ecapcity.com drops the following 3 New Era Fitteds. The 1997 World Series featured the Cleveland Indians, who were playing in their 2nd World Series in 3 years. Their opponents were the Florida Marlins, who had set a record by reaching the Fall Classic in only their 5th season. The Marlins were underdogs, but they capped an amazing season by stunning the Indians 7 games, becoming the 1st ever Wild Card team to win the Series. Game 7 was decided in extra innings on an Edgar Renteria single, the World Series was decided on October 26th.
On October 31, 1997, most of the fan favorites of the 1997 Marlins were traded, Moises Alou, who was traded to the Houston Astros, and Al Leiter to the New York Mets, in a fire sale so infamous that it has come to synonymize the term in the baseball world. World Series MVP pitcher Liván Hernández, however, stayed with the team for two more years. The Marlins had a record of 54–108 in 1998, the worst performance ever by a defending World Series champion.

Exactly like what the players wore during the 1995 Fall Classic. The Atlanta Braves iconic navy top with red visor color scheme and white logo, not much can be said about this colorway other than it its always duplicated for other MLB teams when it comes to custom colorways. The 1990′s Cleveland Indians Fitteds are probably some of the most sought after Hats. The “Big Face” Indian logo graces the front of these 2 caps. One in the Classic Navy and Red and the other in the all Navy, Fans haves begged for years for this Cap to be brought back into rotation. Here it is in retro fashion.
The 1995 World Series matched the Atlanta Braves against the Cleveland Indians. The Braves winning in 6 games to capture its 3rd World Championship in franchise history (the 1st in 1914 in Boston and 2nd in 1957 in Milwaukee), also making them the 1st franchise to win 3 crowns in 3 different cities. The Series was also Cleveland’s first Series appearance in 41 years and resumed the World Series because it was canceled due to a players strike in the previous season.
The 1995 World Series provided the only world championship of the 1990s to the decade’s most dominant National League team—the Atlanta Braves. After heartbreaking defeats to the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta was trying for the 3rd time in 5 years to capture a title.
After years of terrible play, the city of Cleveland finally had a winner. The Indians batted over .300 as a team during a shortened regular season in which they won 100 games and won their division by a impressive 30 games. They swept the Boston Red Sox in the opening round, then held off the Kid, Ken Griffey, Jr. and the red hot Seattle Mariners in the ALCS. Their offense was and still is, considered one of the best if not best “on paper” lineups of all time. Led by Kenny Lofton and Omar Vizquel at the top of the lineup, the Indians offense was driven by the middle and their power hitting of Albert Bell, Manny Ramirez, Eddie Murray and Jim Thome. Coming off the bench was Dave Winfield in his last professional season. Cleveland’s pitching staff, which was made up of aging veterans such as Orel Hershiser and Dennis Martinez, was seen as their only weakness.

Ecapcity.com continues its trend of Vintage 1993 World Series Custom New Era Hats releases with this line up. They both feature the favored green under brims along with world series patchs to give you that look and feel as if it was 93 all over again.
The 1993 World Series was the 2nd Series in a row with games played in Canada and the 2nd Series to be won by a Canadian team. It was also the first and to this date, the only, World Series to be finished outside of the United States.
It featured the defending champion Toronto Blue Jays of the American League against the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies. With Toronto ahead 3 games to 2 in the Series, Joe Carter hit a game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the 9th inning of Game 6 to win the series for Toronto, its 2nd consecutive championship and the first repeaters since the 1977-1978 New York Yankees.
This was the first time where a come-from-behind walk off home run won a World Series.

Ecapcity.com is excited to drop the following 1992 World Series New Era Hats. The Fitteds are made to the same standard as they were used in 1992 including the world series patch.
The 1992 World Series was the first Fall Classic ever with games played outside the United States. It featured the American League champion Toronto Blue Jays against the National League champion Atlanta Braves. The Blue Jays went on to defeat the Braves, 4 games to 2. Making it the 1st time a team based outside the United States won the World Series.
Another Historic moment in the 1992 World Series is that Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston became the first African American manager to win a Fall Classic.
That Season was also the year that Fay Vincent was forced to resign and was replaced by Bud Selig (then owner of the Milwaukee Brewers and current commissioner ) on what was originally perceived to be an “interim basis.”

Ecapcity.com is happy to bring to our West Coast Fan base the New Era Fitteds worn during The 1988 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics. In that series the Oakland A’s were the heavy favorites winning their division by 13 games over Minnesota Twins and then sweeping the Boston Red Sox. The Los Angeles Dodgers on the other hand weren’t even supposed to be there. They upset the heavy favorites New York Mets 4 games to 3 and went on the upset the Oakland A’s 4 games to 1.
This World Series is famous for another reason, Kirk Gibson. Suffering from a stomach virus and injuries to both legs sustained during the League Championship Series, he was not expected to play at all. In Game 1, on October 15, 1988 with the Dodgers trailing by a score of 4–3, Mike Davis on first, and two out in the ninth inning, manager Tommy Lasorda inserted Gibson as a Pinch Hitter. He limped up to the plate to face Oakland’s future Hall of Fame closer Dennis Eckersley. Gibson quickly got behind in the count, 0–2, but laid off a pair of outside pitches that were called balls and fouled off a pitch to work to a 2–2 count. On the sixth pitch of his at bat, a ball, Davis stole second. With an awkward and almost casual swing, Gibson smacked a 3–2 pitch over the right-field fence. He limped around the bases and pumped his fist as his teammates stormed the field. The Dodgers won the game, 5–4, and would go on to win the World Series, 4–1.

We will be putting out again one of our fan favorite SF logo fitted hats. The 49ers color-way was by far the most in demand fitted by all our Giants supporters. Celebrating their defeat over the Phillies we will be bringing it back. This will be a limited run and probably won’t be restocked anytime soon. So if you haven’t gotten it yet don’t fall off on it again.
We would like to bring you an extra pair of custom releases this week. One being the San Jose Giants New Era Hat in the San Francisco 49ers color-way. The reason we decided to throw this into the update so soon after the similar SF Giants release is because we had such a limited run of those and it didnt cater enough to our huge SF following. Hopefully everyone that missed out last time can get their hands on this. Also this week to show our support for our local team in the MLB post season. The New York Yankees are a classic baseball team and this logo is pretty much says everything that needs to be said about them. The hat will be navy blue with a circular logo that says “1949 WORLD SERIES” around it with “Yankees” script in the middle.

There’s been a history of rivalry between New York and Philadelphia and it won’t be more obvious than tonight. It’ll be a double header with the Yankees vs. the Phillies for the World Series and the Giants vs. the Eagles for football. Same day, same city. It will an intense night for sports lovers in the east coast as New York enters the “belly of the beast.” There will be a lot of screaming and a lot of drinking…good times…
