We just recieved a handful of NHL New Era fitted hats and one MiLB New Era. The Minnesota Wild, NY Islanders, Anaheim Ducks & Montreal Canadiens are now in-stock with their team colors. The Lake Elsinore Storm and Philadelphia Flyers are made in a felt material, which is, perfect for the season and The New Jersey Devils is all Black. We also have basic Black and White New Era fitteds from the teams of the NJ Devils, NY Rangers and the Pittsburgh pirates, which is their team color as well.

The two NHL custom releases are sure to be a ECC favorite this week. The first one being a San Jose Sharks New Era Fitted Hat in a solid Olive green with black and white logo. The New Jersey Devils New Era Fitted Hat will be desert camo crown with a red brim and logo. Also the logo will have a black outline with a white background.

Granted the NHL may not as be a popular sport as the NBA, MLB, and NFL, But it does have a strong following and people like to represent their teams. Being Located in New Jersey and Home of the Devils we understand what it is to be fans. With New York a short drive away we get alot of requests for New York Islander New Era Fitteds. Recently we started dropping more starting with the 2 most recent in O.G. color schemes. The 1st being in Blue Azure and Orange and the 2nd being in Navy, Aqua and Orange.

In 1972 an advertising executive named John Alogna from East Meadow created the original version of the Islanders logo with the NY over a shadow of Long Island. The current logo has pretty much stayed the same but features a darker shade of blue, a smaller outline of Long Island with a blue and orange border.

Before the 95 – 96 season the Islanders tried to update their look. What came from that was a Longshoremen holding a hockey stick infront of a goal post. The logo was a terrible move and the reaction from the fan base was so negative that management announced it would change back to the original logo as soon as league rules allowed them. The traditional logo returned as part of 1996-97′s alternate jersey, and then became the main jersey the following year. I know i may be alone in this, but I personally thought the Gordon Fisherman Logo was pretty cool along with the color scheme.

With the NHL Playoffs in full swing Ecapcity.com brings to center ice a New Jersey Devils New Era Hat to represent New Jersey proper. Following up to last weeks article on the Vancouver Grizzlies. I figured i continue the theme of popular team logos. This week is our home town team, the New Jersey Devils.

The Devils began play in New Jersey in 1982, They were previously known as the Colorado Rockies before their relocation. They were named after the legend of the Jersey Devil, a creature that is supposed to roam the woods of New Jersey. When the relocation happened there was a contest held by a local newspaper. One of the names that lost was the “Meadowlanders” (Thankfully it didn’t make the cut).

The Devils’ logo is a combination of the letters “N” and “J”,When the the devil horns were added to the top of the image and the pointed tail at the bottom the logo appears to be a devil with its wing flying. The logo is red with a black outline and lays on a field of white in the middle. Before the change in the 92–93 season, the black circle and outline were green.

Before the 92-93 seasons the teams jerseys were Red, White and Green and were known to some fans as the “christmas colors”. The team made the switch to the Red, Black and White color-way and its been that way ever since.
