Granted Baseball season is over with the conclusion of the Fall Classic, But its never too early to prep for next season. This off season several MLB teams will be adding new additions to their New Era Cap line-ups. Ecapcity.com just received the Washington Nationals Alternate New Era Cap which is Navy Based with a Red Visor and Top, the “W” logo is in White with a Red Outline. The Cleveland Indians on the other hand is a little more bold with an all Red cap and a Navy blue “C”. Both teams are also expected to announce new jerseys very soon. Expected more Washington Nationals and Cleveland Indians New Era Caps from Ecapcity.com in the near future.

The 1986 World Series was known for a lot of things. Probably the most famous reason is the infamous error by Bill Buckner which further pushed the “Curse of the Bambino” myth. The 1986 Boston Red Sox team was full of talent and were lead by future Hall of Famers, Roger Clemens and Wade Boggs to name a few. The New York Mets on the other hand were known for their gritty attitudes on and off the Field.
In game 6 of that Series, the Boston Red Sox who haven’t won a World Series in over 60 years and were 1 out away in game 6 against the New York Mets. With Shea Stadium literally rocking, Wilson stepped back in with a full count and the winning run in scoring position, on the 10th pitch of the at-bat, Wilson hit a slow ground ball up the first base line that should been an easy play for Boston 1st baseman Bill Buckner. As the speedy Wilson took off from the box, the ball went right between the legs of Buckner who was playing on two bad ankles. The ball slipped under his glove, and rolled slowly into right field, and the rest is history.

Granted the NHL may not as be a popular sport as the NBA, MLB, and NFL, But it does have a strong following and people like to represent their teams. Being Located in New Jersey and Home of the Devils we understand what it is to be fans. With New York a short drive away we get alot of requests for New York Islander New Era Fitteds. Recently we started dropping more starting with the 2 most recent in O.G. color schemes. The 1st being in Blue Azure and Orange and the 2nd being in Navy, Aqua and Orange.
In 1972 an advertising executive named John Alogna from East Meadow created the original version of the Islanders logo with the NY over a shadow of Long Island. The current logo has pretty much stayed the same but features a darker shade of blue, a smaller outline of Long Island with a blue and orange border.
Before the 95 – 96 season the Islanders tried to update their look. What came from that was a Longshoremen holding a hockey stick infront of a goal post. The logo was a terrible move and the reaction from the fan base was so negative that management announced it would change back to the original logo as soon as league rules allowed them. The traditional logo returned as part of 1996-97′s alternate jersey, and then became the main jersey the following year. I know i may be alone in this, but I personally thought the Gordon Fisherman Logo was pretty cool along with the color scheme.

This week on the Inspiration Behind is the New Jersey Cardinals. They were a Short-Season A classification team affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals (Hence the team name) .The team originated from Hamilton, Ontario in 1988. Then in 1991, the team was sold and was to be relocated to New Jersey. Before the move, the team played the 1993 season in Glens Falls, NY. The following season the team moved to Sussex County, NJ. The team only had 2 winning seasons in New Jersey before their relocation in 2005. Like alot Minor League Baseball teams they came and went fairly quickly but being one of the few New Jersey Teams with a New Era Logo we try and use them as much as possible.
