To show appreciation to the NHL for letting New Era and us work with them we will be putting out three 75 year patch New Era this week. It was a patch made when the NHL Hockey Club hits their 75th season. Three of our favorite logos have had hit their 75 seasons mark and this is for them. The first is the Detroit Red Wings New Era Fitted Hat in white with a red brim and red logo. Patch on the parallel side to the NE flag. The Los Angeles Kings New Era Fitted Hat will be the Silver Season shield logo in team colors with the patch on the right side. Also the Chicago Blackhawks New Era Fitted Hat is red and black (team colors) with their 75 years patch as well.

Over the past 3 years or so Nike has been slowly re-releasing the Nike Air Foamposite One. The shoe was made famous by Penny Hardaway during his days with the Orlando Magic. Also recently Nike released a Fusion of the Air Foamposite One and other various Penny Hardaway shoes to come up with the Nike 1/2 Cent. The Original release of the Foamposite was a Dark Neon Royal or basically a Metallic Blue and it was also the first colorway released for the 1/2. Along with the original colorway releasing Nike decided to drop some retro plus colorways of the sneakers.

Exclusive New Era release at ECAPCITY:
First up was the Eggplant (Purple) foamposite which caused a ruckus and sold out almost instantly and secondly was the Copper (just like a penny) to go with Hardaway’s nickname, “Penny”. One of our most requested and popular logos, the Chicago Blackhawks. One can even say this is the logo and hat that pushed us towards Ecapcity.com,  but thats a story for another day. The team founded in 1926 and included in the first 3 of american based hockey teams, also including the Detroit Cougars (now the Detroit Redwings ) and the New York Rangers. The team got its name from the original founder Frederic McLauglin who was a commander with the 333rd Machine Gun Battalion of the 86th Infantry Division during World War 1, nick named the “Blackhawk Division”.

The first Chicago Blackhawks logo was hand drawn by McLaughlin’s wife, Irene Castle. It when thru several huge changes up until the 1955-1956 Season where the circle was removed from the Jersey Design and it began to resemble its current design.

Then in 1965 the very popular Alternate logo was introduced. A “C” being crossed with 2 War Hammers.
